It reminds me of a story told about two British statesmen, Gladstone and Disraeli, who were invited to dine with the same woman on consecutive evenings.

When asked her impressions, she said:
“After dining with Mr. Gladstone, I thought he was the cleverest man in England. But after dining with Mr. Disraeli, I thought I was the cleverest woman in England.”

That is the essence of presence. It is not about proving your brilliance, but about embodying such devotion that others feel brilliant in your company. Presence is the rarest luxury, because it is so seldom given.

The word luxury originates from the Latin luxus, a word once used to describe abundance, lush growth, and flourishing in nature.

To luxuriate means to grow abundantly, to flourish like vines in the summer sun or wildflowers stretching freely across a meadow. Nature never questions whether it is too much; it simply expresses itself in fullness.

Think of a garden in full bloom: roses unfolding petal after petal, colors deepening with time, fragrance spilling into the air. The flowers do not hold back or apologize. They luxuriate in their own existence, offering beauty and abundance as their natural state.
